My comment was semi-sarcastic. One is free to care about whatever they please, just that I hope they can be rational individuals too and not start flame wars. I look at my time advocating Linux here as pretty cringe for this exact reason.Achromalia wrote: 5ev6p

(the unstated message: "posting about how weird it might be that someone cares or doesn't care about a certain thing is not very useful, probably. if you want to know, ask why. if you don't, idk i guess you're free to be boring if you don't want to leave it alone")
((that being said, i don't actually expect that or want to impose any of that, i'm just satisfying my own need to be correct~))

i'd genuinely celebrate that for you, and if you're finding some growth in enjoying time outside this wasteland, then i sure as hell would love to see you continue on with that. i can't imagine many people here will stop you from enjoying your life, it's a good thing to get to have and your time is a limited and permanent resource of continuity :>Manishh wrote: 2k5q58
Nice, I just wanted to check out OT and found that this drama is still going on lmao.
The latest 'age' has definitely lost meaning for 'me' since the requirement is low for 'my standard' and there are few in the 'age' that never became such a big part in OT to be rewarded with a title and not to mention there is one who still is not accepted as a part of this community.
Though, plus a point to patatitta, at least now I can distinguish which 'age' I dont see as quality.
Also if anyone wonders why I am not active. The biggest part is that I have lot interest and the 2nd biggest part is that I am trying to fix my life, trying to spend more time on useful stuff, focusing on exercise, quality sleep, quality study times and not fuck my mind over this forum. Cya I will see the next time I visit
Aren't the requirements higher than ever before though?Manishh wrote: 2k5q58

no, karmine is right, the new requirements are the highest they've ever been, it's just that previous to that requirement were only a suggestion, so in practice, it kinda works different, IMO betterYmir wrote: 2z2l6t

What's higher about the new requirement? The hardest part of the old stuff was the achievement aspect.Patatitta wrote: 5t25

the achievement thing wasn't actually explicit in the requirements, it's just something that it was added on extraordinarily, I mean the time and post requirement are the highestYmir wrote: 2z2l6t

If the requirements were as high as you've claimed the denizens Emjakolic, MaxIsABigKaiju, Kori and BeaniCraft would not be denizens in the first place, unless you know something about them that I don't.
Otherwise I assume the requirement increase you must be referring to post count and time spent on the forum, which isn't really difficult.
Granted I don't know where to find these new requirements so I don't really know what's going on. No, I have not actively looked for it, so I'm aware that's a fault on my part.
The thing about needing to actually "achieve" something on OT was added quite late (in the history of denizenship) never really enforced, if it was there would have been almost no denizen since.Ymir wrote: 2z2l6t
Considering that this is the first time (at least in the time I've spent here) that meeting a certain post number and time is the only factor necessary, I'd argue that it's much easier to get denizenship now despite the whole requirement thing being some add-on.
On a side note, I was under the impression that denizenship required 20 pages previously (1000 posts I believe). I'll probably need to fact check that sometime later.
Thanks, really appreciatedAchromalia wrote: 5ev6p

as for the forum now, i really enjoy ot as it is. it's not as fun as it was during my age of roleplay, but i don't really need thrills to be content with the community here
though i won't exactly mind if someone comes out with a neat idea that everyone can play a part in~ but it really depends on who cares and whether an event even needs someone to care in order to be effective ot lore
anyway, go fix your life! savor something meaningful to you, find out what you can do for yourself and others ^^
looking at it, it seemed like there was NO post count requirement, only a time oneManishh wrote: 2k5q58

What are the requirements?
I really can't find anything, even in the ghoulybits change announcements it was only mentioned that you needed to submit a list of achievements to a member of parliament (something that I didn't do and still got denizen btw, like, was this ever enforced at all?), there was no mention of a post count changeYmir wrote: 2z2l6t
I don't know why it wasn't written there, because there was a post requirement. The sleepy government was seriously very sloppy in some places.
Not really related but as I believe I've stated before a few times, the list thing was never a formal requirement, it just made it easier for us and allowed people to show off things they felt could be overlooked. It was merely a way for us to allow someone who wished to be denizen to show off why they thought they should be. While it isn't written down anywhere that I recall, there's a strong chance that Penguin is behind the 20 page thing. That seems like a rather Penguin requirement.Patatitta wrote: 5t25

Nah, I was always against the page requirement cause people were just spamming dogshit single word posts just to hit the post/page requirement, becoming a denizen, then leaving, having never really been a part of the community in the first place.ghoulybits wrote: v2x52

i hope i might understand your opinion there... arguably though, there is more to personality than anime threads and making flippant jokes and having specific argumentative debates with people. like, over the semantics of what we mean because any given selection of any given size of us forum denizens will misunderstand each other at some given moment in time for different reasons, and so onPolyspora wrote: 4i695

idk how, but? it seems to me blushing has lots of personality imo, which if im asked to demonstrate, i will probably either fail to demonstrate or take a while to elaborate on the few times i've ever interacted... which is largely similar to the way i would likely fail to demonstrate/elaborate why i think you or winny or pata or whoever else would have plenty of personality;;
...taking a step back... in truth, i think i'm unfairly presuming a lot more likelihood of you or other people viewing my responses with scrutiny than was merited of me to assume, it just seems like these kinds of commentary tones are rather common, instinctively i'll over-articulate myself for all those scenarios...
in any case, congrats blushing for being ok and being here
