@^: Asia rules, then. I'm thinking about merging team by continent or region or something like that with agreement between players, if there's too less players in that country who wants to particiate.
Also to disperse god-like players in East asian region, how about making spliting the team available? (Of course it would be better to split players by local region in that country if it's still Taiko 'world cup' lol)

Maybe I don't have any relationship with this tournament, cuz my ability is too poor to participate.
Though, As one of noob taiko player, I'm looking forward to this tournament exciting. ;)
As for rules, I think it will good if the rule's big-frame is similar with Osu! standard world cup.

That's why I'm thinking about this.

And [shalon] isn't noob lol (I don't want to make Taiko tornament 'god-like players only tornament' or something like that orz)

EDIT:
If too few participants are gathered, teamVS won't work. (So If that happens We should change this to World Taiko Championship or sometihng like that lol)

Why not make a normal tournament or 2v2 tournmanet instead?? seems much better for taiko since the player base isn't as wide as standard.

you could also make some kind of double-turnament, one for beginners and one for more experienced taiko players

that could be independent from the national-/continental-system then

Is it the K.O. system?
If yes...
(A) The strong countrys like Japan, Korea, United Kingdom and China can play together first, and the best one will come out.
(B) The weak countrys like , , Russia, ??? will also play together, and the best one will come out and play agains the winner of the A team.
Is it all vs. all?
If yes...
every country play agains the other countrys, and the one with the most win's, win.
- When selecting the map, which map we should use? Should non-Taiko-only map allowed?
Honestly, if it is a Taiko tournament, we should use first of all Namcos Maps or Taiko guest diff's..
- osu! World Cup is teamVS. Should Taiko world cup be teamVS, or is there something else?
teamVS. is possible, but not good if it is 2vs4. So maybe, if this happens, there will be a 1vs1 or 2vs2 between the countrys, which players are choosen by the teammates?
- How about prize?
Uuuh... maybe it's possible to ask ppy for modus? I think that should be okay?
- How many players should be in one team?
This is still the one of the main question in my opinion. First of all, we need a list with the players who will play for there countrys. When we have most of them, we need to watch trough the player-number in each team. If one country has less players it can be mixxed with another? I think that's not grose or somethign like that.
About
Team could be: LittleMagic, DarkDunskin, RockeDon, OnosakiHito, Trashy, marshall_racer = 6 People
If this team is later to big I will go to Noobita's special team(if there will be one), so marshall_racer can stay in the German Team.
Normaly I should have the Serbian, not the German status on Osu!...i'm the only one from my country. = ="

@Rokodo: You have your own People in your country...Hikato plays often, and it looks like Shulin also play?

I wish I knew how many players would participate. I need to decide this tornament will be 1:1 or Team vs or something. I'm still thinking about both case, and maybe I gather participant first then decide that. Any opinions?

Team vs. would be a lot more fun, be the teams organized by country or just by group.

Hmm, TeamVS would be more interesting, but as there are not many Taiko players, 2~3 players in one team would be better. More than one team from a country is ok, and if there are not many appropriate players in the country, you can get other players from 'major countries' like Korea or China or something like that. Does it sounds good?

1. osu is lagging now very much. (my laptop is not strong enough :P)
2. i'm not able to hit big notes: useless if i don't have at least a fc xD

Afterall i don't have the time for ;)

3 Players in one team... hm, that's good if... v
...there is just one team avaible for a country and not more... makes no sence if at the end - for example - japan vs japan play.

Well I tought also a little bit more about it - honestly I've got just right now this idea lol - and I think it makes no sence to make a World Cup in this way.
At the end there will be - for example - the most players in the countries, Japan, Korea, China and and the other will have a problem.
A mixxed team is a nice idea, but I think that's also not the best solution at the moment.

One more suggestion(if there are too less players):
I'm more the team player, but honesty, atm it can be just a 1 vs.1 world cup with the K.O.- or ranking/point/tree system (called it how you want).
I would prefare the ranking system, because everyone would have a higher chance to come into the next round as in the K.O. System.
Problem would be the mass of plays... maybe it is a 2 vs.2 possible, if there are to many plays.

well, i got a suggestion here, too

so, if there is more than one team in a country, there could be a local tournament-like competition, from which the best team participates in the world cup

and those countries, which have too less players, can team up with neighbour countries or other countries on their continent, so it'll still be a world cup ... somehow^^

I know, I just thought GER1 vs GER2 is somewhat boring. Where players are from isn't important.
(I said players from minor countries can recruit players from major countries. Yeah, this means the same, where players are from isn't important.)

well then, i'm somehow confused now ... will it be a nations cup, but only with one team per country (and mixed teams), or just players that team up with others independent from the country they live in?

Basically it's world cup and a team is based in a nation, but due to lack of Taiko players worldwide, I'll set lots of 'flexibility' about making a team. I'll control those things anyway.

EDIT: I wish Chinese & Japanese players are well informed about this...

That gonna be hard for country without 4 really pro-players, i already know the winners of this... but well, i guess it's ok for me o.o
(EDIT : I actually can't do big dons, and so i lose 5/10% of the score of a basic map, i guess it's a cool handicap ^^)

Oh, never knew there's a Taiko World Cup going on soon.
Man, I would love to , but I'm pretty much cut out from osu!,with the freakin' proxy settings and everything.
Maybe I can go to the library here and play, but imagine someone wrecking havoc on a laptop in a library.... I doubt the security personnels would miss that. :o

i thought the last days about what maps can be played, and as far as i know, most taiko oni maps are very hard (at least for taiko newbies/intermediates), so we could begin with a easy/normal standard map as a 'warm up', and then maybe after 2 or 3 rounds, we could start with some easier taiko oni maps, with their difficulty getting higher from round to round


i'm already so excited about the tournament :)

I'd be interested in doing something with the american players.

But, if anything, I'd like to be part with anyone. I'm not very picky, and I'm not all that scrappy at taiko, I think I'd make a decent addition to anyone's team c:.

Still have lots of time before the tournament actually starts, though I still have lots of things to be ready. I want lots of players participate this...
