To be perfectly honest, that IS how gender seems to be- as in, largely a "slider" between male and female, sure. Third-gender/Agender people etc are generally seen being "in the middle" of the two rather than on their own seperate scale.

It's irrelevant to dismiss this as therefore meaning there are only two genders though- the point I was trying to make earlier was that trying to quantify them is largely irrelevant, since people just use subjective words as a way of conveying ever more specific meanings in order to communicate where they lie on the gender "scale". Hence the meme with the 68 genders or whatever.

With that knowledge, saying "there are only two genders!" just ends up seeming like a mean-spirited "joke" intended to mock anyone who falls outside of the two binary identities. It'll probably fall outside of style soon, along with that dumb attack helicopter meme that people use to circlejerk their idea that trans people are just making everything up.

Having a quick read through of Economics in One Lesson: the shortest and surest way to understand basic economics, it's quite a great book. It is a much easier read than expected, and it clearly debunks the myths prevalent in our "new economic orthodoxy", stuff like the "broken window theory" (that war/destruction is good for the econony), minimum wage, tariffs and protectionism, union sophistry, price fixing, inflation, price control, et cetera. I think everyone needs to read this book.

It's not hard to work out if you make an effort. The general quality of posts and posters has fallen dramatically, the objective content of posts has fallen dramatically. Previously going on the forum, I might get a laugh or read something that makes me think. However since then, the culture has degenerated into something than glorifies shitposting with intentionally little effort, and it attracts the lowest common denominator, as opposed to before, when there was an element of exclusivity which in effect maintained a certain standard of posting quality. I'm not some faggy relativist would say that all things are of the same quality and to think otherwise is "elitism".

well, it's not like I didn't notice that myself. not that all of my posts back then were *~HIGH QUALITY~* or anything, but some pages here are people just quoting each other again and again and again with no purpose (if it's a running gag, it's just a bad one, sorry)

I'd say that OT in general stayed the same though. as in, it could be recovered somewhat easily if we actually bothered posting here again properly.

I dunno if people who claim this have a grudge against someone or they just don't like active people there but that doesn't justify the argument. Don't be ignorant, guys.

The old OT was much better, because the people were better and posted better stuff. Being a "welcoming" community isn't good, all that means is that the community now caters to the lowest common denominator. Previously, shitposters were ostracised and usually left, which was a good thing.

Whether stuff here is "supposed" to be quality is irrelevant. It used to be better quality, due to the fact that the other highly regimented and overly-moderated subforums do not produce good discussion.
