Pretty sure you can do with the instrumental whatever you want as only your voice will get judged. So as long as you don't do anything with that it should be fine.

You can use an instrumental but dont transpose it.

Because some of the songs can be too high/low for our vocal range and by pitched the key of the instrumental to, eg; -2 key lower or +2 key higher make the song more viable to sing.

I don't really understand this rule. If the point of the contest is to show off our voices, why can't we sing songs in a key to best do this? You might as well say guys can't sing songs by girls or vice versa because it's in a different octave than the original. FWIW, at least two of my songs last year were in different keys than the original artist's recording. If there's a song I enjoy that allows me to express myself but the original soloist has a different range, why should I be barred from singing that song? On idol contests irl they play fast and loose with the keys of their songs, they do whatever they can to ensure they give the best performance possible.

Well, changing the instrumental doesn't have any influence on your voice.
In fact, most commercialized idols get the songs written perfectly for their capabilities so it wouldn't make much sense indeed to restrict the use of pitchaltered instrumentals.
I mean I could make myself my own instrumental with Cajon+Guitar but it'd be kinda unfair to be people who can't play instruments and "manually" transpose it...

Didn't think I would have to, the voice is still mine, just in a more comfortable range. It's not like I was trying to fool anyone, you could listen and tell the keys were different than the originals.

The rule applies to laying your own voice. Aslong as we can hear you well enough it should be okay.

Just a quick question; So you want "RAW" songs? That's probably not the real term but I mean that you don't want us to/don't allow us to sing a song and cut out the best parts to make the song whole again? Just double checking, since this probably fits in under "Other mixing FX".

The entry has to consist of one single take. Using more than one take and cutting stuff together is not allowed.
You can check last year's registration entries, there was at least one entry that got disqualified for it.

What would be the point of a stage with a specific genre if you didnt follow it, that would be disqualification. If its a Pop stage, you sing Pop!

Oh man, it sucks because my rhythm problem is too obvious with the instrumental (to where I felt it would distract the listener from enjoying the song) so I actually resubmitted trying to put the acapella as the main submission, but then idk what I was thinking but I wasn't sure if I should've included the non-acapella one too and I ended up making a playlist?

But anyways, I'd rather just have the acapella cover as my main submission if it's not too much of a hassle... (unless I have no chance already )

Am i supposed to say here about the echo mic and all that?
Cause my mic isn't echo but stops catching voice if I move only a bit(and i use that so i hide the breath xD) , I noticed that some endings look a bit like they are cut. Maybe it's just me being paranoid not to get disqualified cause of mic ;_; . Let me know if that is a problem and I will record again without moving.

If it's like last year, you sort of just have to check the thread/google doc regularly if you want to know if you to the next round
