Question !
"Noise cancellation is allowed, but vocal layering/harmonies/reverbs/autotune/effects/other mixing fx are not allowed."
In other words, it means that the recording vocal should be raw (only in necessity of noise cancellation is allowed) right ?
But can the instrumental be mixed (?) , eg; the instrumental is pitched (high or low) to suits our vocal range.
is that allowed ? <3
I don't really understand this rule. If the point of the contest is to show off our voices, why can't we sing songs in a key to best do this? You might as well say guys can't sing songs by girls or vice versa because it's in a different octave than the original. FWIW, at least two of my songs last year were in different keys than the original artist's recording. If there's a song I enjoy that allows me to express myself but the original soloist has a different range, why should I be barred from singing that song? On idol contests irl they play fast and loose with the keys of their songs, they do whatever they can to ensure they give the best performance possible.Flanster wrote: 2k4e1s
A.k.a you cant, just sing what you can
I'm not allowing this.
So you did this without saying anything? Okay. Fine. Lets allow this then.tHampton wrote: 4h501g

The rule applies to laying your own voice. Aslong as we can hear you well enough it should be okay.Aether_Wing wrote: 56263o
I know the rules say no voice laying, so I presume that means no singing over the original vocals, right? The problem I have is that the only 'instrumental' I could find left the vocals in for one line of lyrics (the rest is fine). Would it be acceptable to sing over that?
It wouldn't necessarily seem out of place, the creator of the track clearly thought it was suitable as a karaoke track at any rate.
Its registrations anyway, choose something shorter.xSynchronize wrote: 104d4z
Well heck, then if you try to attempt a 5-minute song with continious lyrics you are so gonna need to take a breather somewhere inbetween multiple times. And that's gonna suck. Kakuzetsu Thanatos for example, you are gonna need a whale's lung XD.

Choose a song already within the genre[Hiiro Sakaki] wrote: 1zsy
Do we have to sing in the the song's style? For example, is it allowed to sing in a rock/metal way the pop/jpop song we'll have to sing? (And other way around?)
I'm in a duet, she can it for us at the right time. I just wanna know if we can sing in a different genres than the original genre when song genre is forced so I can prepare my part following the rulesFlanster wrote: 2k4e1s
Oh okay you want to do your entries in advance since you will be away. Thats perfectly fine, you can record and send them to me via forum pm.
What would be the point of a stage with a specific genre if you didnt follow it, that would be disqualification. If its a Pop stage, you sing Pop![Hiiro Sakaki] wrote: 1zsy
