Oh, so it really is as brief as this. I was about to report this, but a little differently:

An interesting display resolution issue for cutting-edge, at least for me.

If osu! is in windowed mode, and you maximize the window, the game will expand to the size of your window. On stable builds, after the game has resized to the display, it will appropriately update the display resolution in the options menu, and you are free to change it back to whatever you want in the event that you do not want it to fill your screen.

However, in cutting-edge builds, if you maximize the window in this way, the game will report the resolution as your previous windowed resolution, and not the size of the display you have. I've tested this on both of my displays, a 1280x1024 external monitor and a 1366x768 standard laptop display. I play the game at 800x600, windowed. The problem is actually a bit more severe than just improper reporting of the resolution though: if you try to change the resolution after maximizing the window, the game will hang.

Getting the same issue here, began in the last few days. Osu!direct s are working fine, but no beatmap file can be opened manually.

You can fix this by renaming your osu! folder and then running osu!. You can rename it back afterwards.

Alternatively run osu! with the -setassociations argument

A mania mode map.

In stable version, only 1 .png is detected missing and it seems the file is not really missing and even appearing at design tab.

• Editor's "Open Song Folder" is not working.
I have 2 versions of osu installed, stable and cutting-edge, for BN's stuffs and it seems the open song folder is not working for cutting-edge's editor :?

In osu!mania, hitsounds play incorrectly when using the alternative key to hit the special column (the one set with Key100 in skin.ini).

I know it's a bit confusing right now, but 1K coop is actually using the Co-op Layout for 2K. The default binding would be Space+Right Alt.

No. Perhaps you don't understand what this option does. It's so that songs like smooooch (keysounded but with an audio track) can speed up the keysounds when played in DT/HT. Currently only fully-keysounded (no audio track) maps like Imperishable Night 2006 speed up/slow down the playback rate of hitsounds.

Oh and the keybinding reset is intentional. Keybindings have been removed from skins, and moved to the config file. You will have to rebind your mania keys once only.

I guarantee this isn't something new, and likely is a temporary bug due to your connection. Try restarting osu!.

It's only when you don't bring down the F9 menu, it works fine if you do, but when you just pull the chat up, just F8, the tabbing is not fully functional.
Little bug with the mania keybinding window, if you choose 9k coop in the dropdown box and then untick the co-op checkbox, you can bind keys for 18k. Same goes for any co-op mode

That's intended. There's also a skin option to use 18k instead of 9k coop. Put "SplitStages: 0" in a [Mania] Keys: 18 section and you'll be using those bindings.

For maps that have storyboards, AiMod keeps telling that all sprite images are missing, although they are not. This happens for both separate SB files (.osb) and storyboards integrated into .osu code.

I'm currently working on a mania skin, but the double playfield behaves kinda ugly for large mania-stage-left/right's

Screenshots:

As u can see the right playfield is always in front of the left playfield (excluding the keys at the bottom), but the problem is that even the mania-stage-left will be shown in front of the left playfield.
Now imagine it for even larger mania-stage-left parts, u wouldn't be able to play at all.
This issue forces me to create a 2nd version of the mania-stage-left/right parts and always switch the image files in the folder, whenever i want to activate/deactivate the coop mod.
I've got a storyboarding problem here. I was trying to make a storyboard à la Taiko no Tatsujin, when I noticed something off. I'll let the screenshots talk for me.

See these black spaces on the upper-left and upper-right sides of the cutting-edge screen ? They are missing pictures, seen in the beta screen. When the picture reaches a certain point, it simply disappears on the left side or appears on the right side. The storyboard is made to be in 16:9, and there is no difference when using 4:3 as the screen is cut before the appearing/disappearing point.
I've tried moving an object on another map, like it's background, same thing, it dissapears after reaching a certain point.

Also, by the way, when pressing the up and down keys in the editor, instead of changing the playback rate, it sends me to the next / previous timing point. Is it intentional ? I don't seeing something like this in the changelog. Also, when there are two timing points at the same time, I can't go back to the previous one.

Erm... No, wrong issue. The correct one would be:
  1. Fix moving images disappearing early when reaching a certain point.
It didn't only affected the Taiko slider of my map, but also moving images from other maps.

First, I think I don't have enough skills to play like that.
Second, notice the lights from the keys ? The first one is fine, but the second one is too big. The first time you're pressing the button it fits, but when releasing it, it goes big like in the picture and stays on this size for the rest of the map. It only happens when using 800x600 and 1024x768, aka the standard resolutions (4:3). Using widescreen (16:9, starting from 1024x600) is fine.

Well I had that text in my mind also, but I don't deal with storyboard stuff so I didn't know if that was descriptive enough and called it as what it basically represents in-game. You know what's fixed, shush! :p

Heres an interesting bug I found. Open a youtube video fullscreen, press escape to exit full screen, click osu! in the taskbar, osu! has performed an Esc button press.

Will not happen if you Win/Alt + Tab though.

Just in the normal Osu! std editor.

In the editor I'm unable to change the Playfield Background colour at all. Once I press OK to save, it reverts back to that default colour without indicating any changes.

Hey there, there has been a new bug with mania.
The LN endings have been flipped by 180°, while the beginning behaves normally.

I've seen this for several people now, and it's no big deal for skins like mine, but it's confusing for skins like this:

The triangle transitions don't use the full menu background for picking a color, while on the main menu they do. It seems to cut off the left and right edges or something?

Note the complete absence of any blue triangles during the transition. This always happens, so it's not just there not being no blue triangles in the screenshot by chance.

Also, the transition colors don't get updated when the active skin changes.

i don't know it's bug or er feature but why the menu-snow isn't working
Since triangles returned tooday, after a while playing my FPS become lower and lower until they start to inpact my game play. When they were first introduced I had the same issue, which stopped when they were removed. However as they returned now, the issue is back.
Here is two screenshoot of when I was streaming on osufrlive channel tooday, first is at the very first map, you can see FPS are at something like 290ish, and the second at the end of the stream 1 hour and a half later, FPS are 120ish. Later I played for a longer time, and when I closed the game fps where as low as 70ish FPS. Before triangles returned, I could play for as long as I wanted and FPS were always 300-270ish.


If you zoom on the images you can see the FPS counter, if you don't want to the 1st says 293FPS, the second 118FPS.

For comparaison, a screen of another end of stream yesterday when triangles were not back. You can see it's more than 2 yours after the start of the video, FPS were still 280ish

I don't know for how long this happens, but osu! fails to load cursor texture(s?) if a map forces any skin (including default) other than active one; I mean the setting in Song Setub (Design Tab).

Can't revert cutting-edge build to either stable or beta. Selecting either will result in an endless cycle of ing the update, followed by restarting into the cutting-edge build only to re the updates and prompting another restart ad infinitum.EDIT: fixed with build b20150318.4 cuttingedge
Not sure if that has been pointed out already, but Cutting-Edge OpenGL build makes mouse extremely unresponsive, it overdraws and reacts slower than in DirectX. Reports/sec stays at maybe 10 less and ms is 2-3, meanwhile it's 0-1 in Stable-Beta-Cutting Edge(Not OpenGL)

I'm not sure if you are supposed to report a bug/glitch about c.e here (as what the title says)

But Ive found a glitch where, whenever you pressed F2(Random) and quickly use Shift+F2. The background glitches to the background that uses the next randomized map.
I think i found a weird bug while spectating.
It only occurs on the cutting edge build

Basically, when spectating someone, the skip button doesnt go away if the beginning of the song has a break:

Kinda hard to see it, but the skin button is still there.

For some reason, i wasn't able to recreate it on the default skin.

It didn't occur 100% of the time. If there was ever a period of "buffering" during the break, it always showed up without fail.
And if the player paused, it would go away for the rest of the song.
If you spectate or watch replays and press 7 / 8 / 9 to speed it up and quit then, the song is still played with this speed. If you restart the song (pressing "play" in the musilayer in the main menu or chilling in song selection), the speed is still the same. Only changing the song in the main menu or in song selection is solving this issue.
I've just got an extremely weird file corruption. I'm not sure if it's been caused by osu! cutting-edge at all since that kind of thing is pretty rare, but I'll leave it here, just in case.

I noticed it when I booted the game and watched a replay, after having played a few hours ago.
The file's last modified and last access date themselves haven't changed.

No, it doesn't have skinned textures. I've first tried disabling the storyboard (this is a pretty new map by the way), then switching to the default skin.
Seeing that it had something to do with my skin, I went in edit mode to see if there were storyboard objects (there weren't any), then I selected the spinner and I noticed it was the spinning texture that had been modified.
So here's my problem, I accidentally clicked OpenGL because of some lag issues but then when I open my osu! again the screen turned black but there's still a sound coming from it. I even tried to restart my laptop, just in case, but still nothing happened. I re-ed it too but it's still the same.

I've looked at bit into the Windows Event Log and I've found this particular event (event ID 245), probably around the time I closed the game and before I noticed the file corruption a few hours later:



Description translates to: The application osu!.exe locked 4 times the main surface.

Although this entry appears a few times in the event log, this is the first time a corruption occured. Perhaps this event is not the direct cause of that bug.
I'm sure this has been posted before (I'd be surprised if it wasn't) but I've been having trouble adding multiple beatmaps at the same time for a long time now:

I would go into the page of chrome and click on multiple beatmaps and only the first one gets added, last time I've tried opening them in the folder, it also did that

Scrolling chat with scroll wheel when you're in the result screen scrolls result screen instead. Note that you can still scroll the chat with Page Up and Page Down button.

Thanks VeilStar for merging my post here, i should've post my cuttingedge problems here anyway.

One more stuff, Collections get a bit wonky after finishing a song, it only shows your first and your last collection. You can refresh it by switching to other tabs (ex. No Grouping) and the clicking the Collection tabs again.

About the issue itself though...
There was an issue on all builds recently where you could not scroll the chat by clicking & dragging the chat on the results screen.
It would scroll the results screen instead of the chat. The sroll-wheel worked fine though.
That has already been fixed though (it works fine now on Stable), but for some reason this appeared on CE. Not sure what happened.

Servers seem to be slow at the moment. Your play is submitted though as it's on the historical tab on your profile. You'll get it eventually.
Also please keep this thread for issues that only appear in the cutting-edge thread. This is a server/network issue, not a cutting-edge build issue.

First problem I found:

slider texture disappears/misplaces when selected

Second problem (may not be a problem):

in borderless mode, when i edit a map and then exit out of it without saving, the entire osu window minimises

third problem (having trouble replicating)

When the second problem happens, there is a case where the editor background turns completely black. No matter what button you press (exit, yes, no, cancel) you cannot close the editor/osu and it just minimizes. alt+f4 doesn't work and must close by ending osu.exe process. This would probably affect people who read mods on their map, apply them, and forget to save before closing resulting in a lot of map changes lost.

A replicate method for problem three would be the following:

1. Launch osu! in borderless mode
2. Open editor and open up any map
3. move any element in editor (circle/slider) on the playing field
4. alt-tab to a window which is maximized (eg. maximized google chrome, maximized windows explorer, etc.)
5. alt-tab back to osu!
6. press esc
7. problem appears

I don't know if this method is reliable, but it happens to me when I do it

edit: problem one has been solved in next update but problem two and three still persist (maybe it's just me)

If anyone is still experiencing texture corruption AFTER this change, then please let us know by posting here. Hopefully texture corruption does not occur anymore. :)
The full screen issues are a known problem. You can get around it byt running windowed for now.
obs(Open Broadcaster Software) cannot catch anything with the latest cuttingedge version.
I've tried stable and beta, obs can catch both.

It works for me.

Make sure you have the latest version of OBS installed, and check the Game Capture settings (select osu! in the application list, and check "Stretch image to screen" to fix the image not being the right size)
Shift+doubleclick on osu!.exe starts reing all .dll files instead of opening configuration window.

When I want to change some beatmap settings like AR or countdown toggle, the window opens many times.
I noticed that my frames got lower. So i checked renderer and it seems i cant find DirectX nor OpenGL. I also cannot update for some unknown reason.

That explains half of it. But the problem now is the fact i can't update.

Wait that means i cant pick DirectX if i use the CuttingEdge? WHat about Beta and Stable?
That's right, DX is not available anymore in cuttingedge.
Beta and Stable are currently older builds and on .net 3.5 (i think), so DirectX is still an option there.

OpenGL feels more responsive than DX in the cuttingedge build though. (also a small FPS boost for me)
