need manga recommendation for shonen ai

Btooom! is a pretty good sci-fi manga, a bit similar to the Hunger Games (sorry for non-manga analogy), although its updates take forever. If you like Parasyte and Gantz, a similar manga to that is Zetman. The style and amount of gore and nudity is about the sameralip wrote: 2q3p2d
Can anyone recommend me any good seinen sci fi or horror manga (for my summer break)
When I mean horror I don't mean fruity horror moe . I can't think of any at the moment but this list will sort of help with the taste of art style I enjoy:
Parasyte
Gantz
Litchi Hikari Club
Claymore
Berserk
Emerging
Or anything that resembles Shintaro Kago's art style

Okay, so I love shojo.
Can you guys recommend me some manga that are similar to Horimiya and Hibi Chouchou?
Thanks a lot.

Have you ever read Dragon Head?!? If not that's one of my most favorite psychological horror mangas it makes you think about life and fear. And it's one of those mangas that you don't want to stop reading! (Especially the first arc!!!!!)SoG Tava wrote: 1aw2y

There are actually a lot of "slice of life" + "drama" manga out there.. However, most of them are shojo. "School life" can also be considered a sub-genre of "slice of life."Mike Azuki wrote: 1i3z1c
Are there some sliceoflife-drama mangas out there? If there's a physical edition that would be way better. Thank you
My Heart is Beating (Manhwa) / Annarasumanara (Manhwa)/ 3 Level Combination (Manhwa) / A Lollypop or a Bullet.SoG Tava wrote: 1aw2y

Looking For...
Sentient Mecha (at least sentient 50% of all times) + Any genre (especially fantasy & romance (not between mechas :/ (0.000000000000000000001% only will have), but plz no extreme violence and pervert-related)
DoraBase? It's not "really" Doraemon, but more like a spin-off of it about Baseball.Sirade wrote: 443f1

Anyone here who knows? And plz no "Doraemon", not that KAWAII sentient cat robot, lel.
I copied from "Anime Suggestion Thread", because it is a bit similar, lel.
I realize that this is already two weeks old, but I think you should give 'Pluto' by Naoki Urasawa a try. It's sort of a remake of an older Astro Boy story with the main character position shifted to another robot than Atom, but absolutely worth the read.Sirade wrote: 443f1

Any particular time you're looking for? The ones I can spontaneously think of are Historie (Ancient Greece, ongoing), Vagabond (Sengoku Era, ongoing) and Vinland Saga (Vikings, ongoing).Mogsworth wrote: 1z5d72
Looking for some decent historical fiction. I'm not one for harems or ecchi, though, so those are my only qualifiers. Any suggestions?
I've been meaning to read Vinland Saga, and the others sound interesting, so I'll give those a shot!Jindujun93 wrote: a6725

Billy Bat has some historical elements as well, though gets more in the Sci-Fi direction as it progresses.

Honestly though, I'm having a very rough time trying to find anything new or interesting that I might have ed on quite a while ago so I might as well be the first to do a recommendation request.
What genre I'm after:
Action-ish minus the adventure boringness unless it's actually compelling.
What I'm looking for:
Something along the lines of Shingeki no Kyojin.
What I've read before:
Just going to skim through a few titles I've read/currently reading -
- Ares
- Berserk
- Claymore
- Id
- Shin Angyo Onshi
- Superior
- Übel Blatt
- Vagabond
How about Bakuman? plenty of laughs and a fun read.jomil_charge wrote: 4c171e
Hi guys....
I just notice that I'm out of manga to read and I got a hard time finding some manga suited to my taste (not literally).
So here I am needing for suggestions.
Genre: Mainly Comedy. (mixed with any of these: romance, school, fantasy, harem, drama)
Example: The World God Only Knows, Heavens Lost Property
Note: the manga series should be completed
Thanks guys and have a great day.

I'm mainly care about the plot or storyblissfulyoshi wrote: 2i5w2q
jomil_charge: Just curious, why do you care about completion? If you are in it for the comedy, just read as is. It is not like jokes change after completion (ittedly jokes like those in Hayate are time sensitive, so reading them as they come is fairly helpful)
blissfulyoshi wrote: 2i5w2q
I am not sure what mix of Comedy and everything else you want, so I'll just shotgun the list (I it, I forgot how good/bad some of these series are, so drop it if you don't like them)
Datenshi Gakuen Debipara
Defense Devil
Eyeshield 21
Houshin Engi
Kagami no Kuni no Harisugawa
Kimiiro Focus
Koisome Momiji
Lilim Kiss
Mx0
Tende Freeze!
Zippy Ziggy
That sounds like Piano no Mori you just described.piruchan wrote: 2brb
Not asking for a suggestion. I read this manga long time ago but forget the title.
Here's the synopsis:
There was an elementary school student who is a pianist. One day he/she found a piano in the forest and tried to play it. No sound came out of it. Then he met a child his/her age and that child could play the piano brilliantly. But when he/she let that child play with a normal piano, he played very poorly.
Anyone knows what I'm talking about? Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso reminded me of this one.
Hmm not a big fan of the adventure genre, so I'm not confident in my recs, but here:YaYaPi wrote: q1z2u
I need recommendations:
Manga around the lines of Magi and Akatsuki no Yona.
or with genres Historical, Comedy, Adventure, Action. And with good art. :3
Thanks.![]()
Just to help me a little more, what type of humor are you looking for, and are you looking for no ecchi, or the near absence of female characters?moonlight666 wrote: 572f5
Hello there!
Want to read something light with comedy, but without those ecchi things. For example, Our Demon King Doesn't Bite and Daily Lives of High School Boys
Try Skip Beat and Chihayafuru. Although ittedly I'm not much of a manga fan.annxe wrote: 5j2iw

I'm skeptic about that... The thing that makes fictional mediums like manga or anime that much better in this type of show is how they handle the rather simple movements of for example swinging your arm in various epic strokes and poses without looking bad. Take Death Note as a good example. The unforgetable scenes of Light writing franatically in his book look so much better when the director had unlimited ways of portraying it compared to the live action. It takes away a lot from shows like chihayafuru (one of my favorites btw) where the only intense moments except for certain "romance" scenes are the gameplay themselvesGreen Platinum wrote: 3k2u48

Their anime adaptions are excellent too.
I'm usually not at all excited about Live-action stuff, But I am interested in seeing the Live-action Chihayafuru movie

Something that would make me mentally unstable? Something that will give me da good ol' PTSD. It can be a psychological horror or something so depressing that it could make you want to kill yourself. I'd prefer the latter at the moment but a recommendation for the former would be appreciated as well. Also, no one-shots. Read too many of those.
