osz maps are loading just fine for me
- I have no maps topeppy wrote: 6w4l42
Things I need you to test:
- Submit existing maps. Submit new maps. Make sure submission works flawlessly. Report anything that seems weird.
- First submissions of existing maps will do a full . Subsequent submissions should be super-fast.
- Make sure your beatmap database doesn't corrupt on startup. If it does, send me a copy.
- Make sure your local scores are still visible.
- Make sure osu! doesn't full process your songs at startup, or when adding new osz files etc.
Provide actual details (which map, link, etc.)Bass wrote: f2t3h
When tried to update beatmap which was submitted before that build. Beatmap difficulties shows "Update to the latest version". I tried it once again. Button was "Update Beatmap" but it was full again and same bug after . Beatmap most likely didn't update.
Is there an osu!shine_scores.bak then? Is it quite large (>1kb)? If so, send me this. If not, send me scores.dbBass wrote: f2t3h
My local scores from normal osu! aren't visible, but local scores are saving on osu!shine after playing beatmap.

The game froze at the first startup (http://puu.sh/1b2SN) while playing music. It wasn't using any u at all at that moment.
It worked fine after I restarted it.
I reproduced it by starting the normal public build, closing it, and starting shine again.
These are saved in your config file, which isn't transferred to this version automatically.Mr Color wrote: 1qt6d

Thanks! I think you just saved me a lot of time. I'm not sure why this would fail, though (it works fine here). If you have any further idea I'm all ears (else I'll sleep on itDamnae wrote: 4h4n1r
After more testing of the freeze problem, it happens only after getting the UAC popup (triggered by the call to osu! -setassociations).
No idea, all I can say is that I don't have this problem with the public and test build.peppy wrote: 6w4l42

In the frozen state, can you see the second process of osu! running the setpermissions command? If so, is this osu!.exe or osu!shine.exe and if you kill it, does osu! start responding again?Damnae wrote: 4h4n1r

I just started osu!shine for the first time and it did just that! Adding a new osz file worked fine, though. (This is how it is on the test build for me too, so it might be related.)peppy wrote: 6w4l42

Confirming this, and there's a more serious problem - clicking Random Beatmap, more often than not, causes nothing to appear, and the only sound is a jittering 1/20 second of the song on repeat (as if the computer bluescreened while playing audio.) Leaving the skin select menu lets the song keep playing as usual.Mr Color wrote: 1qt6d
-Going to the skin menu in the Options showed me gameplay with many skin elements missing (circles were totally gone).
Somewhat confirming! Switching from osu!shine back to the normal public build caused osu!shine to lose all local scores, but they're preserved in the public build.Zertap wrote: 1q2j3f
also now that I went back to the current public, my local scores vanished![]()
This could be faster just due to disk cache. If you have the time, can you try the same thing after a cold boot?MillhioreF wrote: 6w3d4u
Yup, that fixed it! Much faster, it processed again but my 22k maps only took about 5 seconds to process this time![]()
Oops, fixed for next build.MillhioreF wrote: 6w3d4u
Beatmap filesize in the thread is still weird though... 1141138kb? http://osu-ppy-sh.jeuxcrack.net/forum/t/100296
yes, it is still happening. conditions to get this freeze is to get both UAC prompt and error. same thing was happening in test version for a while (I had no er so osu!test was freezing for me first time i run it).peppy wrote: 6w4l42
Can you get it to freeze by alternating back to the public?
Ok, I have tried in fresh folder and it doesn't freeze. I will let you know if i know more.peppy wrote: 6w4l42
Yeah, I get the error but then the window appears and lets me . Tell me if you find anything further.
So wait how do i come around this problem now...peppy wrote: 6w4l42
Unicode filenames will not work due to the osz s (as per how it has been until now). Unicode artist and title will, though.
Well this is last resort.peppy wrote: 6w4l42
Do you have any other suggestions? I already tried multiple times using your skin.
hurr just confirming that I meant my scores I have got in the public build are lost, I think though if I run the macro to open the replays in data folder will fix it..MillhioreF wrote: 6w3d4u

had that too, but ing this quickly killed the osu!test.exe process and removed the test databases. Worked fine after it and no full process when went into the song select.MillhioreF wrote: 6w3d4u
Just updated and ran test build, beatmap database corrupt... now it has to do a full process, this'll take a while! Will update this post with anything else I notice.
I confirm.kingking9 wrote: 594l19
Found another one:
1. Go to the Skin Select Menu
2. Let the song change by itself, or hit 'Random Beatmap'
3. 9/10 of the time, it'll just play horrible noise after flashing up a random part of a beatmap for 0.2 of a second or so
4. Sound goes back to normal as soon as you leave the skin select menu.
Artist:Doko ni MonaiSaving the map in the editor will overwrite the unicode artist name completely. This doesn't happen with the song title (works as intended.)

Found a fairly major editor bug:
-Unicode Artist seems to be handled wrongly in the editor. When importing a map with a unicode artist and opening it in the editor, the editor puts the romanized artist as the unicode artist too:

I'd like to test it but I get stuck at , the "Logging in ..." step doesn't end (even with the public build).peppy wrote: 6w4l42
New build now available. Please re-test the UAC issue and anything else that may have been broken. Skin select is still broken, though.
