I'm not entirely sure if including discussion topics as a poll is necessarily a good idea (especially if/when the questions/topics I want to cover exceed 10), but we'll roll with it for now. I did also leave everyone the option to select in the poll which questions they chose, though obviously no one's necessarily going to know who picked what unless you read the replies.

Extra bits on the questions
1. Any comments about how the rounds are set up, their duration, auto-dq's, or any other rules pertaining to the rounds.
2. Any comments relating to the maps selected. Too easy, too hard, etc.
3. Just list any kind of theme that you might want to see. Just be aware I might already have one of them ready just not yet used.
4. Any suggestions that I can do on my end to incentivize seeing more 100% SS's. More points for an SS, more rewards for all-SS, etc. This only applies for stuff I can do; obviously if you're too strapped for time or otherwise unable to devote your energy to getting SS's on your end I can't help much with that, nor do I expect you to try to if you can't reasonably do so.
5. Any questions/comments/concerns about the new spreadsheet. Layout, information given, etc.
6. Anything else you think needs addressing that doesn't fall into the first 5 questions.

At least in this case I'll let this thread stay alive for about a month and then probably make a new one, either with new topics on my end or just to keep it all within the OP.

Oh, and if possible, please indicate how many of my challenges you have participated in (Opt. ideally noting any that you got auto-dq'd from or didn't finish). I'm not really requiring you to, but I think it'd be good for me to see what replies come from actual participants vs. those who might only observe or anything like that.

1. DQ's punishing as hell, instead of splitting 10 rounds into 2 half's it should be make it possible for ppl to take 7 day breaks (at least i think that way)
So remove splitting into to half's
2. Maps were good quality and they were good songs but they were way too easy for every bracket
Also a lot of map had slider so difficult that getting green combo is very hard
3. TV size challenge? or Full size openings challenge (full anime op's so all maps are 3-4 minutes)
You could mix those with endings or make mirror version with endings only
4. SS very hard on higher star rating especially when u aren't playing on perfect keyboard (i play on +35ms offset)
5. It loads slowly and doesn't always load, please optimize it more/delate map images
6. MODS DOESN'T MATTER
Please make a reward for using mods like HR, DT or FL - points or er

1. I want each challenge to be contained to a single month, mainly so I'm not trying to juggle more than two (technically more like one and a half) challenges at a time. At the same time, I don't like the idea of players only playing, like, 5 maps and then doing nothing for the rest of the challenge, which is why I switched to doing rounds instead of letting people openly play whatever map they want when they want. Sure, someone like Xerillia could SS all of them at the beginning and then be sitting on their hands anyways because the only way they'd be challenged by anyone is if someone else does all-SS (like Canya did) and he wants to fight for that, but I would prefer there being some manner of consistent competition up until the free period. I think that's more...not exactly exciting or entertaining (though it is those). Challenging isn't it, either.

I could remove the split and just require 7 of 10 by the free period. That is an idea. I'd rather not remove it entirely because I don't want someone who only plays one map and then afk's the rest of the time to stay (basically telling you that you have to consistently participate), but a flat 7 of 10 is an idea. I could also be open to players requesting skips for a round or so if they're going to be out of town and won't be able to keep up. That being said, I currently feel like I wouldn't let it go to the free period--in other words, you'd have to always play Round 10 no matter what. Actually, I might still require at least one score in round 1-3, sort of like how tourneys will dq players that don't show up at the start of them.

2. I want them to be easy (or at least easy relative to the ranks of the players) because I want there to be more SS's. Tat being said, I also would like it to be somewhat difficult to achieve those SS's, but not crazy difficult. As I had said in a dm, I don't want anyone 800K+ to be playing in a 199-150K bracket, for instance, because the 4* maps there are going to be too difficult for them to play; at the same time, I don't want someone in the 199-150K bracket doing nothing but 3-mod/4-mod SS 1* maps like they were in the 899-700K or 900K+ bracket. I could play around with tightening or shifting the SR ranges, though.

As for getting true FCs, well, best of luck there.

3. I did both of those challenges last year, so I won't be bringing back those specific themes for at least another year (so 2026, if I make it that long). Thanks for the suggestions, though.

4. +35 offset sounds like a major yikes. Still, this seems slightly contradictory to point #2 because there you were saying they were too easy. Which is it?

5. I'll ask Xerillia to check, though idk if that's specifically something he can fix.

6. I'll think about it, though it would most likely be points over er.

Two other points, albeit one that was already brought up:

1.) Changing the SR ranges for each bracket. While it was only one person, I did see it mentioned that one of the brackets (I believe 499-300K) had too easy a range. As I mentioned to Jeypick above, I don't want it to be too easy, but neither too difficult. I would be very open to changing SR ranges (either on individual brackets or for every bracket), but I would need to see effort from players that shows the maps are too easy. One of the easiest ways would be for there to be 5+ people in one bracket and everyone SS's all 10 maps. That isn't an absolute metric, mind you--I could see an argument if there were 6 people and 4 of them got all-SS, and I'd definitely do something if there were 10+ and all of them SS'd. But for that low a number I might need to see something more.

A funny shower idea I had was that either players in that bracket would request a diffculty-up chance in the next challange (well, "next" being the month after, most likely) where all their maps would be in the "hard" category of .2-.3* harder than their normal bracket and would require at minimum 98% acc with a FC (Acc would be negotiable, FC would not) on 8 or 9/10 maps from at least 4 players. Might also require a minimum of 5 players, and might also require playing every map on their round. The point is not so much to make it insanely difficult as it is to ensure that if players really want that they need to prove they can do it.

Idk how well that would be received or how easily it'd be done, but I think it will always be for the entire bracket to challenge that, not just individual players. One absolute for even considering it at all would be that multiple players can show they can all-SS; one or two individuals consistently getting all-SS isn't enough (i.e. CraneTek and Xerillia always SS-ing in the 499-300K range).

2.) Allowing players to play at least one bracket above their SR. If I allowed this the above from #1 probably won't ever happen.

In any case, this would mean if a player /in-d to, say, 699-500K, they would also have to specify they want the 499-300K bracket or I'd default them to their bracket by rank. IMO two brackets is a bit too far to allow for all brackets, thinking of the higher brackets (199-150K and higher to 49-10K as that's the last one that can even opt for it). Pretty easily to implement, and something I will definitely consider doing come 2025, but as mentioned it likely will be mutually exclusive to #1. I'm not really set in stone on that so it's not like they'll never be able to co-exist, I just currently don't think they can.

I had thought of a #3, but I lost that one. here's another

3.) I didn't really expand on it when Jeypick mentioned it, but I actually would like to know if it feels like too much point inflation to give bonus points for the number of mods used. I will never do specific bonuses for certain mod types (and I think non-score-modifying like SD or PF won't count, as won't NF), but it'd be a simple 1 extra point per 1 added mod. So, in a very basic two-player bracket, the most a player would get is 2 points for winning the round, plus 3 for SS, plus 4 for 4-mod for 9 total.

Granted, this is infinitely easier to manage thanks to Xerilia and it may or may not be easy for him to adjust things to basically have checkboxes for HR/HD/DT-NC/FL/EZ/HT/SO. And maybe my worry about the points being too...outlandish, I guess?, is too shallow a reason. I'd honestly never make it a er thing myself, though someone else could always make a bet for players if they so choose.

4.) How much would you guys like it if I kept a calling list for players to DM? I'm not personally against doing it, but it's in part a mix of worrying about it being too annoying and a mix of kinda feeling like a chore to go through if it gets to be over, like, 50 people. Maybe if I can copypaste the link to each player's DM link it might be fine.

Other (non-Discord) suggestions for promotion or anyone who might be able to help in spreading the word would also be appreciated.

So there's some other things you guys can discuss. I still very much would like to make this be a great experience for both players and spectators alike, so I'd like people who don't try to regularly participate to as well.

Hey, I just found out this thread. In regards to the 5th point, I would like to apologize that I did not properly optimize the sheet. I have made a newer version 2.0 where everything should load in seconds now, better infrastructure and things. So, look forward to the May 2025 👍
