Problem details: When I open osu it gets detected as virus

Do you happen to be using the antivirus software "Avast"?

Try going into the antivirus software and make an exception for osu!, if that doesn't work then follow below.

Go to avast antivirus and go to core shield. Turn off all of the options (File Shield, Behaviour shield, web shield, mail shield).

You should report this incident as a false positive as osu! is no malware nor malicious

Disabling the shields seems to be the only current way for it to be byed, please use this information at your own discretion as disabling the shields may or may not put your computer at risk.

I'm using AVG and when I try to open osu the game crashes

until this is fixed you can work around this by going into avg/avast menu => settings => basic protection => file shield and disable file shield temporarily when you want to play

have any of you read the threads pertaining to this issue or are you just going to continue to bump and post comments saying nothing useful? Please look and try previous suggestions before commenting anything

if you're using AVG, just end the task in task manager because it'll likely be running as a background process. then turn off file shield or create an exception for osu. you should be good to go from there
