i haven't even seen the first 3 gen 7 denizens. i'll be gen 8 fosho if i can even make it that lowabraker wrote: 6cx2d
At this point it seems there needs to be a gen 8, but also maybe not. Dunno. Gens are not strictly based on people knowing each other, but rather the culture of OT during that time. Gen 7 began with the start of the OT Gov stuff, but it seems things are starting to change. There is much less roleplay meta in OT now than at the start of Gen 7. There sorta seems to be a divide between the boxed group on top and the rest on the bottom.
What do you guys think?

The post was post 463, I had to scroll up quite a while to find it.samX500 wrote: 4e1z5d
I kinda feel like eblf started a new generation. When I look at OT right now, I can see a sort of coalition between eblf and all of those who came after.
I agree with this, judging by their period of highest activity, they'd fit better at that point. With the exception of Sam, I have barely seen them interact with 2020's 7th gen.Tad Fibonacci wrote: 476g6d
I think TheLegendaryHD, Sam, Sos, Plini and Puzzle should be considered as 6th gen since they've been more active when the 6th gen was still around.
They just winded up in 7th gen because they only reached post count requirements at the start of 7th gen.

Also, there's the date each member of 7th generation first came to OT:
10/Dec/2016 - DragonSlayer96, had a hiatus until 7/Jun/2020
16/Nov/2018 - Winnyace
18/Dec/2018 - ThelegendaryHD
24/Feb/2019 - Plini
5/May/2019 - Puzzle
14/Jun/2019 - SamX500
19/Jun/2019 - A(Hx14)
3/Jan/2020 - luigi [Actually my first post was on 9/Jan/2019]
29/Jan/2020 - Zelzatter Zero
5/Mar/2020 - Corne2Plum3
27/Mar/2020 - Hydreigon
12/Apr/2020 - Lights
28/Apr/2020 - q9za
14/May/2020 - z0z

The problem with that is that the event that marked the beginning of the 7th gen is the creation of the OT!Government and denizen like AHHHHHHHHHHHHH and myself have not seen this forums before the creation of the OT!Government. Idk about legendaryHD, Plini and Puzzle though.eblf2013 wrote: 331669
I'd say that the biggest difference could've started with me.
If you see the list of when did each member of 7th gen first come to OT (or rather, when they first became active), you'll see that there's a 5 month gap between AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH and me. All others before me with the exception of Sam and Winnyace had their peak of activity way before I first ed OT.
Also, there weren't many newcomers and... well, had no idea what to post in here as I had almost no newbies as reference (thence it took me around 5 months to obtain my denizenship as well.)
So, I started the snowball, but I'd say that later , especially the furry ones, kicked it downhill and turned into the avalanche it's now 7th gen.
So, I mostly agree with abraker's decision by moving the first of 7th gen to the 6th, as I have seen them more active with 6th gen and earlier than with... us.

7th gen reminds of me Upper Gen Z and Lower Gen Z (or however the fuck it's called)
essentially, 7th Gen is like two groups that are the same generation. For Gen Z in IRL, anyone born after the Millennial Era but before 1999 is considered "Older Gen Z" and then after 1999 are considered "Newer Gen Z", but both groups are still treated as "fucking zoomers" by Millenials and older regardless of them having different cultures.
7th Gen can essentially be separated like that
Edit: I'm from the 4th Gen, literal Fag Era, but it's fun watching you all as a lurker like I was on hiatus before
It's a metaphor.Corne2Plum3 wrote: 3y1z1p

prob 4th purely because abraker's in it. plus gen 5 being called the OTpression make sense for them to be genX (baby bust) with them being so small. plus rn there are 8 actual named generations and irl alpha gen are too young to be anything.eblf2013 wrote: 331669

Generation Alpha huh? Damn.... It's very interesting how OT history mirrors IRL historyCorne2Plum3 wrote: 3y1z1p

I agree with this in a sense it gives potential new denizens a "cheat sheet" of who people are in the community of regards of how long they've been here (even for people who have changed names since them, like me)nedd83 wrote: 324f11
yo abraker
why don't you pin this thread?
newcomers should always be able to see the list of denizens. i'm saying this because it does sometimes go to page 2 and beyond.
yea man you had 10 long ago before me (gpr aswell). i mean i ain't complaining ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.WitherMite wrote: 4u135f
I think it’s a good thing to lengthen the requirements for becoming a denizen. But at the same time, having such a basic set of requirements, such as x amount of posts within x amount of time, is a bad thing for OT.abraker wrote: 6cx2d
Ok seriously tho, I am considering adding another requirement to denizen. Some people take extraordinarily long breaks between their debut, and it's hard to figure where they belong. So to become denizen you will have to make it to 10 pages without a 6 month or greater break within that time period.
I have no idea what you’re talking about. This idea is 100% original and definitely not inspired by a system currently in place in the osu community.abraker wrote: 6cx2d
@Penguin so you proposing basically DNT (denizen nomination team)
gee that's a real head scratcher
sure hope no denizen will be dq'd during the consideration of this proposal
I think that this thread idea is great and we keep expanding it further if we want. however, I think that simply making a thread is too little, so I think of adding an extra requirement: the thread is question should , at least, 15 replies, not counting OP's replies to the thread he created.KatouMegumi wrote: 4d5u5e
Hi! I've also made a denizenship requirement change proposal in private before, however I just asked that a future denizen should have a least contributed in more than one thread.
Howevr, I currently see nothing wrong with abraker's public proposal too.
