You can either try getting the best distance (you go faster and faster, platforms get smaller)
or you can try going for score (green are good, red are bad, orange are bonus, combos matter)
both are fun, i only played a couple time, but my best distance was 6k, my best score was 52k

Nice little...thing from Cactus. (I guess you could say art/experiment)
Very confusing and disorienting for a while until you get what's going on, then it's just disorienting.
Floating all over the internet now if you somehow haven't heard about it, Super Mario Crossover, letting you play through ALL of SMB1 with 6 different Nintendo characters each controlling like like their did in their own 8-bit games.

I tried this a day or two ago. I got stuck on the third level I think. I wish I could play it in windowed. Cactus is extremely creative and clever.

I've seen same game technique used in psp game Echoshift(Jigen Kairou), very similar music too.
But have to say story of the company of myself is touching and intelligently made, great find.

Haha, I really used to be into achievements, but I ran out of good puzzle games.
90% of the games nowadays are just overcomplicated RPG/RTS games with bloated UI and crazy stories.
You can't fully appreciate it unless you either play this on 'shrooms during a blizzard or decompile it and realize that it's just 2D sprites with shaders and layering tricks that are systematically deranging your senses.
also so i just tried it, fucking hurt my eyes, Only read Moving M's and the word CAT, so im guessing its just for people who are going to have acid trips or something? Cause I dont get the point of the game

You never left the stage select screen?
I ended up in the hardest puzzle first so I walkthrough'd it after being completely bewildered for 5 or 10 minutes
the rest kind of fell into place the cone wasn't too bad, the pillar was really easy, the cube confused me since it was like multiple phases

If a game is trippy in the slightest bit it's made for stoners. In no way can a game simply try to be creepy or send odd emotions and feelings to you. And it sure as hell can't try having a symbolic message. Only people on acid can enjoy it.
Also, if you decompile the game it's apparently made up of little pieces like any other program. ZHOMG

I actually finished that game Infinity. You just end up climbing a ladder into that glowing white orb thing in the sky. Some silly message that is supposed to be meaningful pops up. Can't what it says .
I played it with neo@lex.
I don't think I've laughed this hard playing a video game for a long long time.
My stomach hurt for days.
We were having robot wars/race, glitching the shit out of the engine and doing all sort of silly stuff.
Good times. Playing it alone would be boring as fuck though.
2D fighting game created single handedly by an ex-capcom employee.
Fairly fun, and teh game is mostly in English.
Though you need to have your computers Unicode set to Japanese in order to play it.
An amazingly awesome indie sidescrolling RPG. Pick three of nine characters of varying backgrounds and wreck shit in the land of Medea. The ingame art is pretty amazing, the plot is quite good, combat is excellently done and quite challenging, and the soundtrack is to die for. Easily has the best soundtrack in any free game I've played to date, and this is a huge understatement. It sures a lot of soundtracks for commercial games. Used to be mandatory purchase, is now free as of February 2010.
A video of one of the boss fights, to give you an idea of the combat.
It doesn't matter whether you win or lose.
The only thing that matters is whether I win or lose in this game called life.
I know it's already, but I will explain better Trackmania Nations Forever, I was LOOONG time playing the united mode, but I know about it. ATTENTION, I'm bad at english
Trackmania Nations Forever
On this game, basically you make your tracks, with the part designs...
You can share the tracks, play online, and buy cool stuff with coopers (don't know if is only united lol)
The problem of the nations, is really limited, it's only have Stadium (but fuc**** awesome) and minimum things, if you get REALLY addicted from nations, it's because you have heard about United (paid)...
It's an great game, it's totally free the nations... http://www.trackmania.com/
^Good idea and game, but story feels like it was written while slitting arms with razor blade.. well indiegames with touching story seems to be today's thing.

Haha, very well said.
I don't know, that last sentence give me a chill, and any game that can give me a chill or make me feel something special is a good game in my book. Korsakovia was probably the game that gave me the most chills. I think at some point I got like around 10 in a row.
I beat it with you guys too.
I don't get why they made a second one, it doesn't make it any funnier. The only amusing part was the name generator.
Well, it was kinda cheap that we played with you, because we kinda did all the hard tricky ones for you, except the couple last one we left off for you. The whole fun of the game is looking at the names and figuring them out, so you missed out of a lot of that.
It also had coop, which made it a lot more fun.
I really enjoyed it, way more than I enjoyed the first one.
I'd rather play different versions of these (if each one has new original achievements that is) rather than play some shit like JustCause2
Well, you can take blocks in your inventory and place them.
you can also mine, chop wood, get loads of different items and use them, etc.
it's a pretty fun little indie game
Tower of Heaven, a short, retro-themed platformer with a very catchy soundtrack. It's been available as an executable for a while now, but this Flash version was released last week.
And don't be deterred by the description, the game's nowhere near as hard as it's made out to be.
Placeholder signature. Will probably replace this tomorrow.

Well, to be fair, the last 1 or 2 levels were quite challenging, but yes the beginning was cake. Reminds me a lot of Portal.
Also, Depict1 was a pretty good platformer too.

These are also made by WADF's creator, Nifflas.
The character is cute, and the level is not so insane(except for some of Knytt Stories levels ).
And the best feature I think is ' created levels available in Knytt Stories'.
I'm sure Cave Story has been mentioned in this thread earlier (if not, something's very wrong with this forum) but I'd also like to mention Tuper Tario Tros. on Newgrounds. It's awesome. Play it and see for yourself.
On a related note, I'm sick and tired of Robot Unicorn Attack.

I'm surprised no one has said these yet. There all awesome SHMUPs, I've even heard people compare them to touhou.Besides the website, these's little to no japanese, plus the music is also great
shmups are a dime a dozen; it's all in the characterization of it. That's what makes Parodius and "Robot Dinosaurs that Shoot Laserbeams when They Roar" memorable

If you like online PvP MMORPGs then this is for you!
You can play as one of three races (or you can choose all each in a different spot) depending on your style and taste and one of 4 different classes :
Warrior
Mage
Ranger
Specialist
Bellato: Their race mostly depend on offensive attacks, They're the only race that use the Light magic force and they ride on mechanical machines named MAU's (Goliath the Melee MAU & Catapult the Ranged MAU).
Cora: Unlike the Bellato, the Cora use the Dark magic force and use summoning monsters named Animuses to kill their foes
Accretia: This race is an mechanical race that relies on ranged attacks (as far as i can see they hardly have warriors in their race) and they wield weapons named Siege Kits, that deal a great amount of damage onto foes. NOTE: Accretians don't have mages so you can only choose Warrior, Ranger or Specialist when choosing this race.
Ragnarok Battle Offline, or RBO, is a beat 'em up game for Microsoft Windows created by dōjin soft developer French-Bread. The soundtrack is composed by Raito of Lisa-Rec. It is a homage and a spoof of the MMORPG Ragnarok Online created by Korean developer Gravity Corporation.
This game was not free beforehand long ago when it came out, but due to heavy software piracy, they seem to have gave up on the game completely, leaving us with this now free masterpiece of a game.
It reminds me somewhat of Super Smash Brothers in of gameplay (as in weak attack = one attack, but right + weak attack = another attack ... and there's also the double jump).
You may want to own a controller to play this game (since you may have problems with attacks that requires diagonal input... like down+left+strong attack)
Super Mario Bros. Crossover is a crossover platform flash video game launched on Newgrounds on April 27th, 2010 by Exploding Rabbit. It is based mostly on the game-play of Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. for the NES, the only major difference is the ability to control characters that debuted in other Nintendo Entertainment System games unrelated to the Mario series.
Mushroom Kingdom Fusion (also known as MKFusion and MKF) is a fan game with modified Mario gameplay, crossed over with many different video game universes and elements.
http://www.liveforspeed.net (dont know if anyone linked this yet) the demo is free and has multiplayer with 3 cars, has been popular for 10 years now or so, and the game is still getting updates. steer with mouse (or use a wheel/gamepad)
APB reloaded is free now, I played it when it wasn't and it was pretty good I guess.
the music importing and stuff was funny, other people can hear your car stereo playing any mp3 you've imported, but it didn't work if you'd play the songs at a club as a DJ though..
this game is only fun if you play it with others in a party, not recommended for going solo this.

Ever wanted to be an astronaut, be part of NASA, explore space & the galaxy far beyond, study physics or the gravity of earth and other planets or blow things up especially rockets with rockets along with rockets attached with rockets? If you answered yes to all of the above then this is the game for you.
Kerbal Space Program is a game focusing on making your own space program. Yes, that's it. But it does not end there, oh no; even though there are currently only two engines it's the almost endless combinations possible that makes this so enjoyable to play. You see, much like real space rockets this game features multistage rockets that you design and create. Setting up these multistages is easy, though it can become rather complicated when your rocket has a gazillion stages.
There is no real goal. You might want to achieve a stable orbit around the planet or just reach for the stars. You can also satisfy your competetive side of yourself and challenge your friends to a game of "who-can-reach-the-highest-altitude".
And have you ever wanted to prove to NASA how lousy their space rockets are? This is the time to prove to them how wrong they are in their designs!
Kerbal Space Program is currently in alpha, to quote the developers:
The game is currently under heavy development. This means the game will be improved on a regular basis, so be sure to check back for new updates.
Right now, KSP is in Alpha state, but we want you to try it out and have fun with it. The first versions are free to and play, and will remain so forever.
The KSP Team is strongly commited to the project, and we are always listening for from the players.
If you have any questions, comments and ideas, please us, or us on the Forums.
Basic run down, build a space rocket with any parts you wish, then test it on the launch pad if it's stable, then launch perhaps successfully into space, stop midway through the atmosphere, or blow up because your rocket is too bloated and unstable which caused to topple out of balance, or maybe too much rocket fuel. You have the brave trio crew of Bill, Jebediah and Bob Kerbal, they aren't pro astronauts, and they're actually pretty clueless when it comes to space, but they're here for you in the name of science~!
GAMEPLAY STUFF:
Propulsion:
Solid Fuel Rocket
Description: High thrust for a short period of time. And unlike the liquid fuel rocket its fuel is within it.
Liquid Fuel Rocket and its Tank
Description: Moderate thrust for a longer period of time, this time can be extended by stacking fuel tanks on top of eachother
The liquid fuel rocket works by attaching the rocket muzzle itself to the end of the liquid tank.
Command & Control
Command Pod
Description: The Kerman trio (seen in the lower right corner in-game) inhabits this pod for the duration of the flight (also their metal coffin if you so desire :v:).
S.A.S Module
Description: As long as this module is attached to the rocket and you hold the F key (or t to toggle), it'll apply force to attempt to keep the rocket straight. More of these will make the ship more stable but will add to the overall weight.
Structural & Aerodynamic
Decoupler
Description: attachable to the side of a module, and on it other things (such as rockets) can be attached.
When the stage that the decoupler is part of is activated, the decoupler detaches from the module it's attached to. Extremely useful.
Stacked Decoupler
Description: This decoupler is only attachable to the top/bottom of a module, and it will detach itself from the module above it when its stage is activated
Stack Tri-coupler
Description: You can attach 3 modules to this one while it itself is attached to a single module. However, it's not detachable itself like the decouplers.
Wings
Description: Aerodynamic wings that are attachable to your craft.
Utility & Scientific
Parachute
Description: Attachable to anything like everything else and will extend a parachute when triggered in a stage. Its main use is to land the command pod safely in case you re-enter the planet or didn't reach space.
The Extra Parts Pack
This pack contains parts that looks more like the rockets NASA uses (think BIG).

This is what happens when Minecraft & Battlefield gives birth to a child during World War I/Vietnam. 2 Teams, Green and Blue, both hate each others guts, for what reason? I don't know but whatever side you're on, you hate the other side to the very core. It's basically an FPS team deathmatch/capture the flag (in this case an intelligence briefcase) with a large element in building bunkers and digging trenches, or if you're autistic enough do the same shit as in Minecraft. The battles can last an entire day and really does come out being really intense and war torn, almost like a real war, complete with the propaganda the community as made throughout both sides of the war.

Only open from 6pm to 6am (though you can change your computer clock and play whenever you like). It uses actual live action graphics and also, your information (name, picture if you have a webcam) will affect the game. Because of this it's really short.

Unfortunately only the first chapter is free, but it was just so good. More adventure than horror, but it gets weird in the later chapters so you could squeeze it into mindfuck territory. This game was made entirely with clay and cardboard, no models or sprites were used as far as I know, just dioramas and stop-motion. If you've heard of a game called Neverhood, it's the same deal.
A mix of Grand Theft Auto & Call of Duty, in this game you can choose to be either a Criminal, or a Law Enforcer.
You can totally customize your character in your own way, your own symbols, logos, cars, etc, etc.
Iji is an Action-packaged strategic platform shooter, with a detailed story, large levels with multiple paths, powerful bosses and lots of secrets. There are alternate gameplay events, dialogues and scenes depending on what you do, a wealth of extras and bonus features, and seven stats to upgrade through a leveling system. (CoPasted from the site)
Actually pretty fun, any action we do will change the story, even how much we kill the enemy will effect the story, play it for yourself.
