1. Theres no language limit.
2. You can keep it 5-6 min. max, but for registrations I'd recommend something no longer than 3 mins.

Rules state only vocal performance, you dont need to sing the bgm, if theres an instrumental, you can use it.

Read the rules. No vocal layers, you can sing without them.

Just to be sure, we can't sing accompaigned by the original music (with the singer and instruments) ; and therefore is it possible to use karaoke/instrumentals tracks (taken from youtube for example) to us while singing or do we have to play along ourselves with our own instruments or sing acapella?

You guys think a built in mic for a laptop (ASUS K555L) would be sufficient?

I have a Macbook Air too and I think it has a decent mic but it's a drag to do non-school related stuff there so I'll try it in my ASUS laptop instead. Are their mics good?

Ugh... tried singing a song but the mic turns out terrible. REALLY bad mic quality. It didn't sound anything like me. So, mic quality does matter. Don't go around saying "we want to hear your voice, we don't care about the quality" because of course you do. Now I bet people who have professional mics and stuff will completely own the tournament and nobody else would get a chance.

Rules state you can use instrumentals.

With only one singer its not allowed since one person cant produce two vocal layers on the fly without software editing. But with the nature of duets that is possible so yes, for duets it is allowed. The rule of vocal layering per person still applies though.

I don't really think it matters, what matters is that you're audible enough as well as that your recording has to be over a minute long for the judges to be able to judge your vocals accordingly.

Choosing a song will be difficult... Part of me just wants to sing one of my favorite songs, but I know that's not always the songs I sound best on. Maybe Jin's "days" would be good... I like to think I sound good on Lia songs... I've been obsessed with Kyouran Hey Kids!! lately, but I feel like I should save it for if I make it to the Rock round...

I'm also sure they wouldnt mind a full ver but especially for registrations it would be extremely time consuming if everyone handed in 5-8min entries opposed to 2-3min.
