was kinda requested here but nothing really happened so i thought i'd try revive the idea and see what happens

But yes, this would fall into the nice things to have, but not needed category, so only half- for now ;)

Mh. The idea is interesting. But why should other people see if I added them as friends? I often added some BATs as friends to see if they are online when I'm working on my mapset and have a short question about it. And now they should see that I added them? What's the big idea in that? If they like me they can add me and then they'll see that the friendship is mutual. If not it's their decision.
And this sentence "Your friendship is wanted" reminds me a bit too much of Facebook or similar social platforms. I really appreciate another sentence at least.

The "Your friendship is wanted" is just a random sentence given to show a way how the feature could work. You're free to throw another idea as to how this could work if you wish :)

Wow. Thanks, deadbeat, really appreciate it. I recall peppy saying that he had been thinking of adding this as well, but yeah, nothing seems to have been done about it.

And yeah, the picture was made by me, and it was just a roughly and quickly made pic to demonstrate what I meant.

Love this idea! I was recently thinking about it because I felt like I'd really like to know who was interested in being friends with me so I can communicate with more people! XD

PD: It would be nice if you replace the broken hearts with bubbles, fits better imo. I know it's just a rough draft but anyway.

If you guys are talking about some function like "hey I want to add you, wanna be my friend?" which will pop up something to the receiver so they automatically add each other, I'm ing it. This will obviously require some kind of "disable friend requests" toggle.

Could have a togglable option (like the ones on forum Posting moment) that allows you choose whether the other people will be able to see (or not) the "Your friendship is wanted" sentence -- and mighty an additional option in the relating in-game IRC commands.

I don't like the idea of having notifications when you visit the site or play the game. It should just be a list in the settings below your current online/offline friends/mutual friends.

This game isn't like any social networking site where you just add a million people anyways :p

#2 and 3 is pretty much your whole thread. Shouldn't these be merged? The only difference is the extra notifications from #1. Anyways. My post was Responding more to the pictures from the person above me. (the first picture from the mail)

This will go down because of too many characters that have. So someone must actually re-deg the webpage, and it's too much hassle

imo , it would be great if you add someone as a friend, a PM will be sent to the person you add automatically. It can be like this

I love editing web pages

But this can cause a spam attack to a certain someone :D

just an fyi, i'm against notification messages as such since this isn't a social media site. i think a nice message on someone's profile would be more appropriate

and is better to separate friends and "followers" in two diferent list
so the drama thing that peppy says will not happen

I definitely agree. Should be added in https://osu-ppy-sh.jeuxcrack.net/p/friends so you can check it easily. Also I had problem with this, because I forgot to add someone to friends, and then I forgot his name, so it would be solution for these cases :D
