After a few weeks of testing and refining the scoring-specific aspects of osu!mania, we are ready to go live with the final online ranking! As a result, scores have been reset to ensure everything is played using the latest version on an even playing field. As always, if you find any issues please report them in the tech forum ASAP.

Go get some high scores :).

Note: pp ranking will not be available until tomorrow, after I finish up the first day calculations!

Entozer and Remilia-Scarlet I foresee battling for #1.

Remilia seems to have better timing for sure (100% shinsekai insane) but Entozer is way better at comboing the harder stuff! (freedom dive fc LOL)

I asked them before and they know this.
Am I supposed to be seeing 0.5x for all difficulty reducing, 1.0x for all difficulty increasing and 0.9x for all nK mods?

There was a message at the beginning of playing every song mentioning scores would be reset. I don't think there will be any problems here.

Erm, DT, HD and FL always have a multiplier of 1.00x. Is this correct?

Mods have other multipliers which have different meaning.
DT -1.1x
HR -1.08x
FL -1.06x
Staiain is becoming instant #1 then (4k+DT pro(and maybe HR yet?))
Somehow this game mode is a "race on achieving 1,000,000 score and be a permanent #1 forever". The only hard thing is that scoring "MAX" on all notes requires too much timing precision. :P

You are wrong, although you get max score, you probably don't get max combo the same time. And as i know, DT increase max combo a bit.

But first of all, it's very hard for max score.

This is not a score modifier, mods are increasing (or decreasing) punish for 200, 100 and 50s.
decreasing of punish rate.
it just gives a slight tolerance to punishments by X%

(still confused about MISS punish)

I discover a issue about HD Mods.

I used HD Mods and played this song.
And I got a miss judgment when I hit the note between combo 10 & 11.

I use both HD & AUTO Mods and play again.
We can see the note between combo 10 & 11 is indistinct to hit.
And AUTO Mods doesn't hit the note.

But if I use AUTO Mods and play again,
AUTO Mods hit the note of combo 11.

So ... is it correct?

Flashing notes in hid mod are bombs that you shouldn't hit.

Half of your score is indirectly affected by Perfect Comboing (300s, glowing 300s), the other half is unaffected by combo. It's not as annoying as osu! standard mode though, as there's a fixed maximum score. Read up about the scoring system on the wiki.

Hidden mode isn't finalized, but apparently, there are flashing notes that need to be avoided.
So if two people get the same score, but one of them gets it first with no mod and the second gets it later with double time, which score has higher rank? The no mod score or the DT score?

I guess it's probably the no mod score because they got it first ?

if you are referring to rank, yes, if there is a tie in the scoreboard the person who got it first keeps it.
That's kind of dumb, I think mod scores should at least have preference in the case of a tie

The preference of mod scores is already there; slightly decreased punishment for getting anything below a 300, resulting in a slightly higher score.
Except in the case of an SS, giving preference to a mod score in a tie would be giving preference to 'the one who did slightly worse with a modifier' as opposed to 'the one who did the same with a modifier'.

I was mostly thinking if someone gets 1mil with no mod and another person later gets 1mil with double time, I think the double time score should be rank 1

but I guess that's not the way mania works ;w;

If, let's say, hidden + SS requires no more than half rainbow 300's and rest regular ones to get 1m?. Most [hard] songs that aren't just a quad key mess are easy to SS with just a few tries, and hidden is basically just free multiplier.
Never will that be. HD is unrank for future development.
