This has probably been reported before, but I didn't feel like looking for a thread that was probably reported over a year ago, because these bugs have existed in ai mod forever. They really should be fixed because they make ai mod harder to use.

Explain the issue you are having:
Okay it's not helpful that Ai-mod instantly moves you to the first issue as soon as you open the error window. And it's even more not helpful that when it selects an object such as a spacing error object, it doesn't show the distance amounts for that object even though it's selected. You need to unselect the selected object and reselect it to know what distance it is from other notes.

Is it reproducible? If so, explain the steps to do so:

1. Open aimod (literally)
2. Check distance snap information

I am under the assumption that AiMod bugs are relevant, so I'm BUMPing this. Both of these issues cleared would make a sizable difference in aimod functionality.
I have fixed the selection on opening issue.

Distance snap is a bit more complex: AiMod selects both objects in the case of incorrect spacing, but the current distance display shows only "prev" and "next", which fails to show the distance between the two selected objects, rather showing the distance from the previous (non-selected) objects and next (non-selected) object. How would you perceive this working optimally?

Good question. I hadn't thought of that. I guess even if you fixed the values displayed as distance snap it still wouldn't be helpful. It's still a bug, the notes are being selected and so the distance between their start and next should be shown regardless. Perhaps it would be more intuitive to select a pair of objects and say "Spacing is too close or spacing is too far. You would remove the previous part, and make it intuitive that you would be able to select the position of the first object instead of the thing in the middle. If you can't find it reasonable to show the difference between the two actual objects in the distance spacing box, you would possibly have that box display like any other selection, and have a separate one within the aimod window.

I would personally like it if aimod was at somepoint merged with the editor instead of being a separate window too. I think it would be much easier to use it if I didn't have to deal with the window getting in the way and unable to take in game screenshots of it. There would be more space and room for new features as it's own mode (Debug Mode) where you could go through the timeline and see all the errors etc.

I found some bugs when messing around.

Trying to move the first object selected by aimod crashes the game with a do you want to save changes error. Dragging objects a certain way can crash the game or can cause some weird effects, such as moving the slider points but not the slider body, or moving the note selection frame but not the note itself.

Example of when you try to drag a slider point of an object selected by aimod. the points become detached from the slider body

Hitting restart after such a crash in the game doesn't restart osu even though I click restart. Object reference is not an instance of an object error

It doesn't select sliders like it does notes.

The location of the object as stated in aimod is not the location of the object, but the location of the red line between the two objects. This seems to be intended as it is a union of the two objects, but when player's see "This object" they wont expect it to be a whole new object created by aimod, they assume it's going to be the position of the note. Because the whole thing is one object, and it can't be a spacing infringement with itself.

AiMod is making weird claims about spacing. Check the screenshot below. It is saying that note 3 is too close to note 2 0.99 spacing, compared to 1.0 during the very next note , but the distance snap between 1 and 2 is 0.81 and aimod does not complain that going from 0.81 to 0.99 is too far.
<The distance between sliders seems to be distorted by where the final end point is and not the actual center of the slider. But clearly 0.99 being too close instead of too far after 0.8 snap is clearly a large issue with accuracy.

Example: This is too close for these notes. 1.9x distance snap is too close. I had an error, then moved it in the timeline, and refreshed and it still came up as a spacing issue. Is Refresh even functional? i'm pressing it and it's not updating the information at least for the issue I found.

Since recently ai-mod has been mentioning a lot more spacing infringements. I assume you improved the spacing finding algorithm. Well it kind of broke the balance of the difficulty reporting part. I understand it's still in testing, but just wanted to let you know it now rarely ever shows the correct difficulty status of a map due to 0.01 spacing infringements.

Pasting notes in between the aimod's selected notes doesn't disrupt the spacing indicator.
1. Select notes with aimod
2. Paste or move notes between the selected notes in the timeline. Red line will stay.

Apparently for some reason the list is displaying spacing infringements twice. It's reporting twice as many spacing infringements than there actually are in a beatmap.

Aimod plays several frames of a video when skipping to certain points in a song . http://osu-ppy-sh.jeuxcrack.net/b/41293
Try playing around with the spacing errors with video. Some errors go frame by frame but others play multiple frames. My speakers are currently broken, so I don't know if audio actually plays. I will confirm or deny this one later when I switch computers.
